Scott founded 1908 Advisors in 2016, after spending 15 years in private equity, the last 7 of which were in the life settlements market.
His experience ranges from policy-level underwriting, portfolio analysis, and capital commitment, to leading engagements and transactions with leading private equity firms in the industry (e.g. DE Shaw, Apollo, Blackstone, TPG, FlexPoint Ford, and others) and various endowments, pension funds, and UHNW investors.
Scott began his career as a marketing rep for IBM. Then, after a short tour as a corporate finance associate within IBM Credit Corporation, he spent a number of years consulting with IBM's largest financial services customers before joining an internal consulting group that worked with the senior leadership team at the personal systems division.
He has served on several non-profit boards, including as Chairman for both Embraced Atlanta and the North Georgia Chapter of Make A Wish. He has also completed the Chicago Marathon twice, running for the Pat Tillman Foundation.
Scott earned an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA in economics and math from the University of Minnesota.
